Mineral Love?

So all makeup that is mineralized has recently become a new fad. As far as I know, it all started with Bare Escentuals. You know, those late night infomercials about this miraculous all natural foundation claiming to make you look like you came straight from the cover of Vogue. Then out of nowhere, everybody has mineral makeup. I was sitting at my boyfriends kitchen table with his roomate (who is the manager of a MAC counter) as she opened her new package. Inside were several different shadows, all mineralized. I bought some the day they came out. I love them, I don't really see any difference between these shadows and regular ones, but they still work great. Today, whether you're walking around Wal-Mart or Macy's, almost every counter has something mineralized. I was surprised to see MAC come out with their own mineral foundation.

A couple weeks ago while I was grocery shopping, I wandered to the cosmetic aisle at Wal-Mart and started checking out mineral foundations. My best friend had met me for dinner the night before and I noticed how wonderful her skin looked. She breaks out sometimes, and doesn't have the most perfect skin. I asked her what miracle had happened and she told me she started using mineral foundation. I gave in and bought the same one she had. It's Maybelline's Mineral Power Foundation.

I like a lot so far. It's really great for where I live. I live very far down south (unfortunately) and I'm a server during the day at an Italian restaurant. We have an outside courtyard, and I don't understand why but everyone wants to sit out there in the 95 degree heat. Unlike with my liquid foundation, this doesn't melt off my face. It stays in place and lasts almost all day. Not bad for $7.
